How to Throw the Best Super Bowl Party This Weekend

By January 31, 2020 No Comments

Can you believe? After a 50 year hiatus, the Kansas City Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl in an epic matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The big game, set to kick off on Sunday evening in Miami, is promising to be one of the best Super Bowls we’ve seen in awhile — and we aren’t just biased!

An epic matchup of these proportions deserves an epic party to go with it, wouldn’t you agree? So if you’re hosting a Super Bowl party this year, we’re here to provide you with some great last minute ideas for making your guests remember this weekend for years to come.

Kansas City certainly takes their sports seriously, as the Royals’ 2015 run for the World Series title showed us. So let’s take our Super Bowl parties just as seriously with these tips:

Play some party games

A party isn’t a party without some entertainment, and a Super Bowl party is a great way to get everyone involved — diehard fans or Super Bowl-only followers alike. We created some Chiefs themed party bingo sheets for your party that you can download for free here. Simply print the sheets out or, if you prefer, simply send a sheet via text to your partygoers and have them cross out their squares using their phones.

Another easy game for a Super Bowl party is Squares. You can find Squares sheets for download and printing here. Squares is an easy format simply based on luck, which means players don’t need to know much about football to participate.

Don’t overthink the food and drinks

The great thing about this particular Super Bowl and Kansas City’s participation in it is that it makes for an easy theme for the party food: barbecue! Don’t overthink or stress food too much — a variety of dips, some food made in the slow cooker, and contributions from party attendees will make for a nice spread quicker than you may think.

We always like to integrate some food for the team we’re cheering for into the mix, and this is an easy job when it comes to finding good barbecue options. Throw some pulled pork into the slow cooker and whip up some coleslaw on Hawaiian rolls for easy sliders, make some jalapeno cornbread, and make some macaroni and cheese and you’ve got a recipe for a successful Super Bowl party.

When in doubt, you can always check out catering options in your neighborhood — chances are, you’ll be able to find exactly what you need in a quick, easy option, if you need it.

Make the game the centerpiece

Arrange your seating area so that there is plenty of viewing options for the game. If you have an extra, smaller TV feel free to set it up in a different area to prevent overcrowding. Super Bowl parties are fun, social events, but the centerpiece of it should be the game itself.

Above all, remember to relax and have fun! Hosting a party can be stressful (trust us, we get it — that’s why PEPPR was born!), but this doesn’t mean it can’t be rewarding. Don’t overthink, have plenty of options, and sit back and cheer on our Chiefs!
